Gary Smith - Pow Wow MC

Gary Smith, enrolled Ontario Woodland Metis, has emceed pow wows in the Georgia/Alabama area for over 10 years, beginning with the Veterans Pow Wow in Ft. Payne, Alabama.

Gary is best known as a teaching emcee who incorporates stories given him by dancers, elders and other storytellers to illustrate tribal dances and traditions.

As editor of "Wotanging Ikche" for the past 14 years, Gary has helped inform the online community of news of our People, as well as stories and poetry written by our brothers and sisters. In addition, for nine years, Gary worked with Native Inmates at USP Atlanta, helping those thousands of miles from their people stay strong in their traditions. He is a Southern Straight dancer and a gourd dancer.
